We're on vacation on Oahu right now, visiting my oldest son who is stationed at Pearl Harbor.
Lucky us!

I've been to the Hawaiian Islands before, and every time I am here I am overcome with the desire to make jelly or jam. I even make sure to rent condos every time, so I'll have a kitchen to cook in.
The quality of Hawaii's mouthwatering fresh tropical fruits is always impressive and the low prices at the roadside stands astound me. I can't resist the many charm of Hawaii's abundant fruits.
The last time we visited I made a batch of Lilikoi (Passionfruit) Jelly. It was ambrosial, to put it mildly. The time before that, I came up with something I named "Monkey Butter" using free bananas we spotted along the side of a road.
What will I make this time? We only have 2 more days here, but I already bought a couple used canning jars at a thrift store, and I have plenty of fruit in the fridge, so I'm halfway to a small batch of jam, right?
